Inspiration comes from many places. When Mike asked me to make this body for him and he wanted the classic Fender transculent white color, I immediately thought of the fur on a white tiger. This body is a two piece swirly-arrow-grain book matched Louisiana swamp ash wood. It weighs in at three pounds. I did some mild finish crackling and lacquer fading on the body. The pickup routs and control cavity depths are spec to the 1950’s tele design. I mounted his Japanese tele neck to the new body. The last step is the aging blackish acid burn on the bridge, control plate cover and knobs to give it an old worn look. The pickups I installed are Bill Lawrence noiseless. Mike Rowley is a long time friend of my Father (Dr. Phil Petillo) and myself. Mike has been playing around the Jersey Shore since the early 90’s. Check out the pics of the body and the unique grain pattern.
