The pickguard on any guitar really defines the brand/style. Over the years my Dad (Dr. Phil Petillo) and I have designed a lot of pickguard shapes for many of our own handmade guitars and custom orders. When this vintage Guild T-100 was purchased it came without a pickguard and my client wanted something to compliment and match the guitar. I came up with this design. The pickguard is made of East Indian rosewood to match the fingerboard grain. I used the same holes that were already in the guitar from the original pickguard to not drill any unwanted holes hurting the value of the instrument. One of the hardest parts on making a pickguard is using engineering to measure/fixture the pickguard level and mill/rout in the pickup area cut outs so the pickguard fits around the square pickup ends.
